This qualification is for individuals who are passionate about helping people who may be experiencing emotional, financial, health, housing and other social welfare issues.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to work in a variety of community service roles, more specifically case management, and quite often provide direct support to individuals or groups using a person centeredness approach.


There are no pre-requisites for entry into this qualification,, however you will be required to complete an LLN test prior to enrolment for entry into this qualification, which will determine your suitability for this course. If you do not have current industry experience for this qualification (either paid or volunteer) you must hold a related qualification in Certificate III or IV OR had first hand experience that has given you the understanding and knowledge of this industry. This qualification will allow you to be involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of personcentred services to individuals, groups and communities. At this level, it is expected that you will have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. You may also be providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals and you will demonstrate skills in Direct care/Person centeredness approach. You may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities. To enrol into this course you must be working in the Community Services industry. To achieve this qualification, you must be employed in the Community Services industry and provide evidence of this. This must be provided in the form of a letter from your employer stating how many hours and in what capacity you are currently employed in. A job description should be included with this letter. This evidence will be required prior to the course starting (you will need to have completed a minimum of 100 hours of employment prior to enrolment) Candidates for this course will also be required to provide a police check that has been completed within the last 6 months and a working with children check.
