Children are required to be supervised at all times and while the majority of Educators are aware of this, it can be easy to become complacent. New and inexperienced Educators may not be fully aware of their duty of care and the need to provide adequate supervision and interaction at all times. In some cases, incidents can occur due to a lack of supervision.
This workshop teaches Educators about the requirements for supervision, what their duty of care is, how to interact and supervise and how the environment needs to cater for both supervision and quiet, private spaces for children.
This workshop runs for 2 1/2 hours and is interactive with a balance of information sharing, reflective discussions, activities and learning reviews.
Directors and managers would expect to see an increased level of adequate and suitable supervision and a lessened risk of incidents occurring. Educators will be empowered to supervise with confidence.
